Carried Interest Proposal AIC Action Call

We invite you to a call this Wednesday at 1:30 PM ET / 10:30 AM PT to discuss the current carried interest proposal.

During the call, we’ll walk through what the American Investment Council (AIC), alongside the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), has been doing to preserve this critical incentive for investors. We’ll also provide a state-of-play update, share the anticipated timeline, and answer any questions you may have.

Given your interest in the industry or prior engagement with our efforts—whether through outreach to members or other support—we would also like to discuss new opportunities for fund managers to assist. Context: This proposal is different from past efforts. Former President Trump has made clear he wants to eliminate carried interest or treat it as ordinary income, following changes made in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. We believe private investment is essential to innovation, small businesses, and American competitiveness—and that the necessary reforms were already made in 2017. Preserving the current framework is critical to sustaining economic growth.
