LAVA's First Look LA

First Look L.A. supports, nurtures and stimulates our unique culture in Southern California, while furthering L.A.s position as a center for start-ups and emerging technology.

In addition to the presenters, venture capitalists and early stage angel investors attend the event, along with local elected officials, business leaders and senior administrators from the universities.

This event has very limited space for LAVA members.  There is a nominal charge of $35 to participate.

Important Logistics

CalState Los Angeles – Golden Eagle Ballrooms 1&2

Hosted Parking is in Parking LOT #5.  There will be attendants in the lot to give you a parking pass which needs to be in your car.  It is a short 10-minute walk to the Golden Eagle Ballroom.  Attendants will be present from 7am -10am.  After that time, the main welcome kiosk will have the passes.

If you choose, you may pay and park in any other guest lot.

A continental breakfast and a box lunch will be provided.  Also we will have a wine and beer reception after the presentations.

12:45 Keynote Speaker - Conrad Burke,Vice President New Ventures, Intellectual Ventures

Conrad is based in Silicon Valley, California and is a serial entrepreneur who most recently sold his startup company, Innovalight, a nanomaterials technology firm specialized in the photovoltaics (solar) sector, to DuPont Corporation. He subsequently managed two different global marketing businesses within DuPont - photovoltaics materials and bioscience enzymes.
