ESG and regenerative investing is a growing topic in the financial services industry. Talks are driven by the media, legislators, regulators, investors and entrepreneurs, and like many trends, changes can shape industry-wide returns. This virtual discussion will define ESG and explore how the current trend impacts investment strategies.
Panelists:
Jamal Hagler - As the Vice President of Research at the American Investment Council, he leads the AIC’s research department. Hagler previously worked as Director of Research at the AIC and at the Center for American Progress, where he researched a range of policy issues. He’ll be sharing his research know-how so attendees can learn more and make new connections.
Catherine Rhee - Legendary Ventures - a private equity and venture capital firm that accelerates value creation for consumer retail technology companies. The firm's funds represent a unique collaboration between venture capitalists and retail executives, including the way it selects portfolio companies, the role it plays in optimizing product development for the consumer markets, and its success in identifying acquisition partners to drive stellar returns for its investors. Catherine has extensive experience in government, supporting and developing business related initiatives and is an advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion.
Erica Lasden - Joined ClimeCo in 2021 after serving as a Senior Consultant with Global Affairs Associates, LLC. A seasoned ESG professional bringing over 20 years of experience from the investment and non-profit sectors, she specializes in ESG integration, materiality analysis, investment trends, and engagement strategy.
Previously, Erica played a central role in ESG investment functions at Calvert—a responsible investment pioneer. Erica has deep expertise in multi-stakeholder engagement, proxy voting, and ESG data analysis and management across a wide range of asset classes. She served on the development team for the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board’s Level II exam for the inaugural FSA credential, the Steering Committee for the Intentional Endowments Network, and as an Advisory Committee Member for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Culture of Health for Business framework.
Erica earned a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in History from the University of California, San Diego. She loves skiing, exploring new places, and any activity involving excellent food.
